Operations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator plays a central role in the operational performance of the Business Unit Component at Sabena Engineering, located in Haren. Acting as a key interface between logistics, production, planning, and supply chain stakeholders, the role ensures end-to-end material flow control, from inbound parts to outbound component delivery.The Logistics Controller contributes directly to lead-time reduction, stock reliability, backlog control, and overall on-time delivery performance.

Responsibilities:

Inbound & Material Availability

• Create, launch, and follow up on ODMs to ensure timely availability of components, tools, and materials required for shop activities.
• Monitor inbound flows and proactively manage shortages, delays, and priorities in coordination with procurement and planning teams.

WIP Monitoring & SAP Follow-Up

• Track Work In Progress (WIP) in SAP to ensure alignment between physical flow and system data.
• Analyze WIP status, identify bottlenecks, and support corrective actions to secure smooth production flow.

Stock & Inventory Control

• Ensure accurate stock control of spare parts, including physical stock versus SAP consistency.
• Contribute to inventory optimization by identifying excess, obsolete, or critical items.
• Support cycle counts and inventory accuracy improvement initiatives.

Spare Parts Preparation

• Coordinate and prepare spare parts kits for component maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure completeness, traceability, and timely availability of parts in line with production needs.
• Ensure delivery of spare-parts to internal Backshops in proper conditions of quality and timing.

Outbound & Component Expedition

• Prepare and coordinate outbound shipments of repaired components.
• Ensure compliance with quality, airworthiness, and customer requirements (documentation, packaging, traceability).
• Follow up on deliveries to secure on-time dispatch and customer satisfaction.

Backlog & Performance Tracking

• Monitor logistics-related backlog and KPIs (material shortages, WIP delays, shipment delays).
• Provide regular reporting and clear visibility to the Business Unit on logistics performance and risks.

Continuous Improvement

• Proactively identify improvement opportunities in logistics processes, material flows, and SAP usage.
• Initiate and support continuous improvement actions aimed at efficiency, lead-time reduction, and operational robustness.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Act as a logistics focal point within the Business Unit.
• Coordinate daily with production, planning, quality, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure operational alignment.

Required Skills:

• Industrial Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
• A first experience in logistics, supply chain, or production control, preferably in an aerospace or industrial environment.
• Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic shop-floor context.
• Good knowledge of SAP (logistics, WIP, stock management); ability to analyze data and translate it into actions.
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented approach with strong follow-up skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and a strong sense of accountability for operational performance.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is a strong asset.
