Your responsabilities

As part of the direct procurement team, you will manage a team responsible of all purchasing activities for one or more direct spend categories. Your responsibilities include:

  • Being the manager of a team composed by 6 buyers and supporting them in their tasks.
  • Regularly reporting to the Chief Financial Officer about the state of work.
  • Analyzing mid and long-term views/market trends and develop know-how and strategies for direct categories, building new supplier relationships and developing alternative sources or solutions.
  • Challenging colleague category managers to make continuous improvement.
  • Managing the procurement projects within your team: kick-off with internal clients and stakeholders, RFI, elaborate specifications, challenge the technical specifications, RFQ or RFP…
  • Being the trusted advisor in strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives.
  • Making clear recommendations for overall cost improvement and developing strategies to achieve quantifiable savings.
  • Improving tools and processes to increase procurement overall efficiency.
  • Guaranteeing appropriate communication between collaborators.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree (economics, business administration, finance or corresponding), or equivalent through professional experience.
  • At least 5 years professional experience in a multi business-unit procurement environment.
  • Proven experience as manager.
  • Track record in developing and negotiating national and international contracts.
  • Fluent in English. French and Dutch will be considered as a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS/Office including ability to do your own data analysis based on data from multiple sources and presentations.
  • Previous experience with SAP will be considered a plus.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with colleagues in different business units and hierarchies.
  • Result oriented, analytical, precise, eager to take on new challenges, self-motivated, innovative, problem solving and negotiation skills.
