Your main responsibilites
The Logistics Manager ensures the performance of the supply chain in order to provide the parts, materials and toolings that engineers need to carry out aircraft maintenance work. They manage supplies and transport to deliver parts to our facilities and between our buildings. Tey manage the reception, incoming inspection, storage, distribution and dispatch of parts to be returned to the customer. They define stock levels for frequently used parts.
General:
- Provide the parts and tools needed to complete projects within the timeframe set by the project manager
- Manage stock levels of regularly used parts
- Receive parts and tools, carry out incoming inspections and make them available to projects according to the urgency of the need. Ensure compliance with customs regulations
- Organise the consumable parts and tools store (5S)
- Ensure compliance with regulations (Part 145, etc.)
- Coordinate teams to ensure the necessary responsiveness
- Implement relevant KPIs and lead teams
- Ship parts to be returned to customers or tool rental companies
- create collaboration and motivate the different teams (procurement & logistics)
- Manage relationships with carriers.
- Optimize processes to ensure maximum efficiency while minimizing costs.
Team Management in stores:
- Allocate daily tasks to the team to assure an optimal productivity of the department.
- Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing logistics team.
- Allocate tasks and ensure the team achieves its objectives.
Team Management in procurement:
Allocate procurements to each project.
Ensure business continuity by developing team’s versatility so that each team member is proficient in the various stages of the process.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop logistics strategies aligned with the overall goals of the company.
- Contribute to defining procurement and distribution policies.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels and implement systems to minimize excess and shortages.
- Implement just-in-time (JIT) or other suitable inventory management methods for the company
Stakeholder Relations:
- Establish and maintain fruitful relationships with customs authorities, business partners, and suppliers.
- Negotiate favorable agreements for the company regarding tariffs and logistics conditions.
- Promote cross-functional communication between logistics, maintenance, and planning teams
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives while maintaining safety and compliance standards
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and profitability of logistics operations.
- Analyze performance indicators and propose optimization solutions.
- Monitor changes in customs and logistics regulations and adapt processes accordingly.
Your profile:
- Proven experience in logistics, warehouse management and team management, ideally in the aerospace industry or a regulated environment
- Ideally, knowledge of aerospace parts, certifications and MRO requirements
- Proficiency in ERP systems, ideally aerospace-related (AMOS/SAP), and logistics processes
- Rigorous, responsive, service-oriented and able to coordinate activities
- You are a leader of men and women, you have a hands-on approach and lead by example
- You have demonstrated your organisational skills both in physical terms (warehouse layout, 5S) and human terms (ability to mobilise energy and develop the skills of your employees)
